Sonia Novaes is Brazilian and is dedicated to the teaching of Vedānta, Sanskrit, and chanting.
She began her spiritual journey early in life, seeking a deeper understanding of the self, the world, and God. She started her study of Vedānta in Brazil with Swami Vagishananda. After graduating in Philosophy, she moved to India in 2003 to attend a residential course with Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Swami Brahmavidyananda. Since then, India has been her home. With the blessings of Swami Dayananda, she founded Ātma Vidyā, through which she conducts classes both in person and online.
